Organized by the Rotary Club of Mendocino, the annual “Share the Warmth” clothing drive called on community members to donate warm clothing, such as coats, wool socks, pants, sweaters, hats and rain gear. The collected clothing was donated to the Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center, to be used by the participants in the Coastal Street Medicine Program which provides essential medical services to homeless men and women. Donations were collected at the Engel and Volkers office on Lansing Street in Mendocino. On December 18th Rotarian Jeff Stubbs delivered ten containers of warm winter clothing to Hospitality House where vocational training coordinator Jessica Fitch received them. The Rotary Club would like to thank all those who helped out, including Margaret Black at Engel and Volkers, who collected the clothing from donors, Gary Hopper of Mendocino Hardware who made 60 pairs of wool socks available at cost, and KOZT which publicized the effort.
