Rotarian carry banner down mainstreet Mendocino in annual 4th of July parade.

Just about every Fourth of July since Mendocino Village was founded in 1857, thousands of people from up and down the coast gather for the annual parade. On the lawn of the historic Kelley House on Main Street you’ll find food, beer, a giant American flag  handing from an 19th Century water tower and dozens of people with blankets waiting for the parade. 2013 was no different. Rotarians carried the banner for our latest project, Rotary Park, and handed out literature along the parade route and in the park soliciting support. As usual, we held our barbecue at the Mendocino Volunteer Firehouse in Mendocino Village. It was a sellout! And, like all Rotary projects, we combined our service to the community with plain Independence Day fun.
